Take in mind that there are types two levels in the game:
1- The Player Level: You can check your current player level and how much is left for the next one at the top left corner of your game at the blue star icon.
Upgrade your player level by serving customers in the supermarket, collecting goods from the crops or the factories, and upgrading or building certain areas in your village.
Once you level up, the game will unlock new items, and you will be able to add new features to your village! You can check them at the hammer icon (bottom-right corner buttons). A red warning will appear next to those sections with actions waiting to be carried out.

2- The Supermarket Level: You can upgrade your Supermarket level by building new areas (bakery section, for example).
You can check your current level and the pending requirements to build the locked sections by tapping on the hammer icon (bottom-right corner buttons) and then on "Supermarket."
