Unfortunately, we can't check if your game was properly linked once you have lost your progress. 
Your progress could be recovered if you were connected to Google Play on your device.
Please follow the steps below:
1) Make sure you have added the correct Google Play account to your Android device, and sign in through the in-game settings.
2) If your account was linked to an old email, contact Google Play Support to recover your account’s information.
We cannot access information related to your Google Play account, so we need your help to find the correct login details that will let you recover your game account. 
Check regularly your in-game settings to make sure that your game is linked to your cloud. Your controller icon should appear in green.
